Colorado Concealed Carry Training Has Changed
Colorado concealed handgun permit training requirements changed under HB24-1174. New permit students now need in-person training that includes classroom instruction, a written exam, and a live-fire exercise.
Do not trust outdated training information. Make sure your instructor is teaching current Colorado law, safe handling, storage, self-defense law, law enforcement interaction, and judgmental use of force.
Concealed Carry Classes for Rocky Ford Students
Have Gun Will Train Colorado offers concealed carry training for students from Rocky Ford and the surrounding Arkansas Valley area. Many students are willing to drive to Pueblo because they want a class that is organized, current, and focused on real-world safe gun ownership.
Our concealed carry classes cover more than basic shooting. Students learn about:
- Safe gun handling
- Colorado concealed carry requirements
- Firearm storage and child safety
- Handgun fundamentals
- Colorado self-defense and use-of-force law
- Interacting with law enforcement
- Avoiding and managing violent confrontations
- Live-fire qualification requirements
Handgun Fundamentals for New Gun Owners
Not everyone is ready for a concealed carry class. Some people need basic handgun training first — and that is a smart decision.
The Handgun Fundamentals class is a good fit if you recently bought a handgun, inherited a gun, changed carry guns, or simply do not feel confident loading, unloading, clearing, storing, or shooting your pistol.
Rocky Ford Colorado Gun Training helps prevent bad habits before they become permanent.
Get Trained the Right Way
Reading about firearms is not enough. Safe gun ownership requires hands-on training, correct habits, and a clear understanding of Colorado law.

Choosing the Right Colorado Gun Trainer
Finding the right firearms instructor matters. Every student has different goals. Some want a concealed handgun permit. Some need a renewal class. Some are brand-new gun owners. Others already carry but know they need better skills.
When choosing a gun trainer, look for:
Safety First
A good instructor teaches safety from the beginning. Muzzle direction, trigger finger discipline, loading and unloading, storage, and range conduct should not be afterthoughts.
Current Colorado Law
Colorado gun laws have changed. Your instructor should be teaching current information, not outdated internet advice or old concealed carry class material.
Real Teaching Experience
Knowing how to shoot and knowing how to teach are not the same thing. A good instructor can explain things clearly, correct unsafe habits, and help students improve without embarrassing them.
Student Reviews
Former students can tell you a lot about the quality of a class.

Shooting Experience Matters
If you are looking for someone to teach you how to shoot, experience matters. Rick is a Distinguished Expert in Semi-Auto Pistol through the Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification Program.
But good firearms training is not just about marksmanship. It is also about judgment, safety, consistency, legal awareness, and responsible gun ownership.
