Starting July 1, 2025, Colorado law requires anyone renewing their Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit to complete a minimum 2.5-hour refresher course, including both a written test and a live-fire qualification. ⏰ Timing Matters – Don’t Delay

You are allowed to renew your permit up to 120 days before the expiration date. With many sheriff’s departments already backlogged, it’s strongly recommended that you submit your renewal application as early as possible.

⚠️ Your training certificate must be dated within 6 months of your renewal application, or the sheriff will reject it.

Course Overview

• Duration: minimum 2.5 hours
• Cost: $75 per person / $125 per couple

Who Needs This Course?

If your permit expires on or after July 1, 2025, and you’re within 120 days of expiration, you are required by law to take this course. Training is mandatory under Colorado’s updated statutes.

Shooting Qualification

• Target: B-27 silhouette
• Scoring: Must score at least 70%
• Criteria: Any hits inside the 7-ring count
• Time: No time limit – accuracy is the focus
• Range Fee: $10 for non-members, $2 for others
