NRA Range Safety Officer Course

NRA Range Safety Officer Course

Take the NRA Range Safety Officer Course and learn how to help supervise safe shooting activities and range operations. You can be certified in one day…..

The NRA Range Safety Officer Course is designed for people who want the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to organize, conduct, and supervise safe shooting activities. This course is a strong fit for range volunteers, shooting club members, youth program leaders, competition helpers, and anyone who wants to better understand range safety procedures.

Range Safety Matters

A good Range Safety Officer helps keep shooters organized, alert, and safe. The RSO is not there to show off or take over the line. The job is to watch, communicate, prevent unsafe behavior, and respond properly when something goes wrong.

Safe ranges do not happen by accident. They are managed by trained people.

What Is an NRA Range Safety Officer?

An NRA Range Safety Officer, often called an RSO, is trained to help supervise shooting activities and range operations. The RSO helps enforce range rules, gives range briefings, monitors shooters, watches for unsafe behavior, and assists with emergency procedures when needed.

This is a nationally recognized NRA certification for individuals who want to help promote safe shooting activities.

Why RSO Training Is Important

Many people know how to shoot, but not everyone knows how to safely manage a firing line. A Range Safety Officer must be able to identify unsafe behavior, communicate clearly, and respond quickly when a problem occurs.

RSO training helps build those skills.

Whether you volunteer at a local range, assist with a club event, help with youth shooting programs, or simply want to be more useful during organized shooting activities, this course provides valuable safety training.

Local Range Safety and Shooting Activities

Southern Colorado has a strong shooting community. Local clubs and ranges depend on responsible volunteers and trained safety-minded members to help keep events organized and safe.

If you are involved with Pueblo Municipal Shooters or another shooting organization, RSO training can help you become a more valuable member of the shooting community.
