NRA Range Safety Officer Course
Develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. Great for those that want to volunteer at the local range. Also for organizations who hold shooting activities with young adults and others.
This course is nine hours long and is conducted in a classroom and at a shooting facility. Range Safety Officer candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO. This includes Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions. Each RSO Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide. Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, an Instructor Application/Course Evaluation form also included.
To obtain a Chief Officer certification the participant must be an NRA Instructor and take the NRA RSO training with hands on instruction training.
You may become an NRA Certified Range Officer.
This is a nationally recognized certification.
Your Range needs you! You may earn a yearly membership by volunteering time to your range per your range guidelines.
